Tim Schmidt works as a medical center and hospital management executive in the south-central United States. Recently serving as interim CEO in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Mr. Schmidt, provided expertise on how to develop and improve medical services, including facilities expansion and improvements, strategic planning, and staff training on safety best practices. Before taking on duties in Fort Smith, Tim Schmidt served as CEO of Texas’ Laredo Medical Center (LMC) from 2009 to 2013.

While at LMC, he planned and executed a $22 million hospital expansion project, supervising the construction of larger emergency and ICU facilities and recruiting and deploying 17 new doctors. Over his four years of service to LMC, Tim Schmidt developed the business by nearly 27 percent, achieving total net revenues of $315 million.

He served in the U.S. Navy after earning a bachelor’s degree in finance at Texas A&M University in 1982. He is also a graduate of Trinity University, where he earned a MS in health-care administration.

Augmenting his work as a healthcare professional, Mr. Schmidt is a longstanding member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Texas Hospital Association; moreover, he regularly contributes time and volunteer effort to charitable causes through his church, Rotary International of Laredo, and the United Way.
